The Admissions Exercise for International Students (AEIS) is a unified examination conducted by the Singapore Ministry of Education for international students seeking admission to primary and secondary schools in Singapore. The test assesses proficiency in English and mathematics, evaluating applicants' English language reading and writing abilities, computational skills, and reasoning abilities. The Ministry of Education does not disclose the contents of the examination papers or the scores achieved; only the admission results are announced. International students who pass the AEIS successfully will enroll directly in Singaporean government primary or secondary schools in January of the following year. 

The Singapore AEIS exam is the only pathway for international students to enter government primary and secondary schools.

Note

1. Applicants aged 8 and above who take the Grade 2/3 elementary school exam may be placed in Grade 3, Grade 2, Grade 1, or fail, depending on their performance and age. Applicants aged 10 and above who take the Grade 4/5 elementary school exam may be placed in Grade 5, Grade 4, Grade 3, or fail, depending on their performance and age.

2. The Singapore Ministry of Education does not recommend international students to exceed the appropriate age for more than two years.

Test Results: Enter the passport number and date of birth on the AEIS website to check the test results. The Singapore Ministry of Education cannot guarantee admission. Admission will be based on the applicant's performance in the exam. 

·Passed Test: 

1. If the test is passed, the applicant will be assigned to a school with available slots or to a school near the applicant's intended residential area (which should be specified when applying for AEIS).

2. The applicant should report to the allocated school within the specified time frame; otherwise, the admission slot will be forfeited.

·Failed Test: 

If the test is failed, the applicant can reapply for the next AEIS or S-AEIS (supplementary exam) of the same or higher level based on age requirements, or consider other private schools.

S-AEIS is a unified exam for international students who cannot participate in the AEIS test in September or October. It is conducted by the Ministry of Education in Singapore in February and March each year for international students seeking admission to primary and secondary schools. Admission decisions are based on students' exam results. The Singapore Ministry of Education does not disclose exam content or scores but only publishes admission outcomes. International students who pass this exam will directly enter Singapore government primary or secondary schools in April or May of the same year. 

The Singapore AEIS exam is the only pathway for international students to enter government primary and secondary schools.

1. Applicants aged 8 and above participating in the 2nd/3rd-grade primary school exam may be placed in the 3rd grade, 2nd grade, 1st grade, or deemed ineligible, depending on their performance and age in the exam. Applicants aged 10 and above participating in the 4th-grade primary school exam may be placed in the 4th grade, 3rd grade, or deemed ineligible, depending on their performance and age in the exam.

2. The Singapore Ministry of Education does not recommend international students to be over the appropriate age for more than two years.

If the test is failed, applicants may reapply for the same or higher level of AEIS or S-AEIS (supplementary exam) according to age requirements, or consider other private schools.
