PSLE Streaming System:

Based on PSLE scores, students are allocated to different secondary schools. The top performers enter the "express" stream without needing to sit for a separate entrance exam.

There are five types of courses when enrolling in secondary school: Express, Normal (Academic), Normal (Technical), Integrated Program (IP), and Chinese Special Program.

The top students can sit for the Singapore-Cambridge GCE O-Level examination in their fourth year of secondary school. The results of these exams determine admission to junior colleges and polytechnics.
